On the idea of eternal culture minister Jack Lang, the Fête de la Musique was born in 1982 in France, to celebrate the first day of summer. The concept was exported soon because it is in 1995 that it arrives in Berlin with a lot of open airand free concerts for the occasion.

The Music Festival is also celebrated in 21 other cities in Germany and in nearly 340 cities internationally. It celebrates all forms of art music, rock bands, jazz, orchestras, to choirs, soloists and DJs, the festival is followed massively in the world.

For my part, I had an appointment at the French Institute for a reggae concert with the frenchies of Danakil. Great atmosphere, good bass and Berlin more than receptive to this kind of music, what a sunny evening to welcome the summer!
